What’s On for Interstate Lions & Dockers Fans This Grand Final Week

This year it’s a first: Brisbane Lions take on Fremantle Dockers, and it’s the first time these two clubs have ever met on Grand Final Day. A lot of you are here for the week, not just the game — Dockers fans flying in from Perth for Fremantle’s first-ever Grand Final after 32 seasons, and Lions fans back in Melbourne for a fourth year running, chasing a historic three-peat. The Grand Final Parade winds through the city on the Friday, and by Saturday the whole of Melbourne is in footy mode — barbecues from breakfast, pubs packed by lunch, and the MCG roaring from bounce-down at 2:30pm. Maroon and blue or purple and white, expect King Street and the CBD to be heaving from the final siren well into the night.
